The Tollgate Islands Nature Reserve provides breeding habitat for Seabirds such as White-faced Storm-Petrel and Little Penguin.

The Islands are situated approximately 11km from the Batemans Bay Marina. It consists of two Islands adjacent one another with a total area of approximately 12 hectares.

Tollgates host Dragon Rock or Shark Gutter, where a colony of Grey Nurse Sharks can be found. Usually the colony are only found certain months of the year, however, have been present most dives in the past 12 months. If the sharks aren’t present, this is still a magnificent dive with a great array of fish, Blue Gropers and Wobbegong Sharks to be seen.

The Arch

Stunning swim-throughs and caves. Normally home to Wobbegong Sharks, Blue Gropers, Port Jackson Sharks and Eastern Blue Devil Fish. Maximum depths approximately 19-20m.

There is also a magnificent underwater valley with a great array of fish life and a Bubble Cave located in Black Rock.

The Tunnel

Located Southern end of Black Rock, a reef that drops from 9m to a sandy bottom at approximately 21m. You can enjoy swim-throughs and see marine growth. Home to Slipper Lobsters and Eastern Blue Devil Fish.

The Chimney

Also located South of Black Rock, the Chimney consists of a large sand gutter which runs north/west to the reef. Depth is approximately 12-18m. Beautiful gorgonias and soft corals can be seen here. Both sites are a photographers dream.

Vibrant coral reefs, soft sponges, nudibranches and rich sea life can be expected on this dive. You maybe lucky enough to see a Weedy Sea Dragon. This dive is ideal for beginners and experienced divers.

Burri wall – an amazing vibrant vertical wall of color – this would be suited to more experienced divers. Diving depths are anywhere between 18-30m.
